Design and project management of a replacement cast iron cylinder for a reciprocating compressor manufactured by the Bryan Donkin Company.
Pattern assembly in Autodesk Inventor – casing (white), gas passages (pink), water passages (blue)
During ultrasonic inspection of the wall thicknesses of this Donkin made reciprocating compressor cylinder, it was determined that excessive corrosion had occurred and a new cylinder was required.
Since the existing patterns had been discarded, my job was to produce 3d models using Autodesk Inventor from which new patterns were machined and new cylinders cast.
